A rare glimpse into Vaniyambadi’s educational history. This photograph captures the Governor of Madras, Lord Pentland, alongside the office bearers of the society on 2 March 1915, during the laying of the foundation stone at the hostel site of what is now the Islamiah College campus. The gathering includes several prominent members of the community who contributed to the institution’s establishment, marking an important chapter in Vaniyambadi’s educational legacy. A photograph that preserves a moment from our town’s past.
